4 Sample DMS Plans

As noted above, DMPTool provides a catalog of Data Management and Sharing Plans written and used by researchers as part of their previous grant applications. If you would like to see more such examples, this searchable archive of previously used plans is worth exploring. Another useful resource is this annotated example of a DMS Plan, which has been released by the NIH DMSP Guidance Working Group. As we noted above, the NIH DMS Plan website also contains a number of sample plans for a variety of different data types that are frequently used in NIH projects.

Perusing these sample plans will give you a sense for the level of detail that reviewers expect in these documents.
